Tweet One of India’s independence leaders, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s status has been erected. The statue, dubbed the “Statue of Unity,” is 182 meters tall, making it the tallest statue in the world. The statue was officially opened by the Indian President Narendra Modi in an event attended by more that 5,000 police officers. Modi described the statue as “an answer to all those who question the existence of India” He said: The height of the statue is to remind the youth that the future of the country will be as huge as this. The bronze-clad statue cost $430 million to build and houses a memorial garden and a museum at its base. Ex-Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi also broke conflict of interest rules, Fifa said. Football’s world governing body launched an investigation after Nyantakyi was pictured taking $65,000 (£48,000) from an undercover reporter. Fifa fined Nyantakyi 500,000 Swiss francs (£390,000). Nyantakyi was also vice-president of the Confederation of African Football and a member of the Fifa Council. He stepped down as GFA president in June after film of him allegedly accepting a “cash gift” was made public. The film was captured by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and BBC Africa’s investigations unit, Africa Eye, received exclusive access to the footage. Just some few weeks ago, a viral sex tape of Lagos pastor ,  Apostle Chris Kevwe Omatsola , caused uproar across social media and it was claimed that the tape was released by a phone repairer. However, according to a new report by a lady identified as Rita Egwu on Facebook, the pastor allegedly released the sex tape just to spite the lady involved in the video, who happened to be his ex-girlfriend and he wanted her back at all cost. The pastor was also reported to be violent and repeatedly abused the victim physically before they finally decided to end the relationship. Lena Dunham has been tapped to adapt A Hope More Powerful Than the Sea: One Refugee’s Incredible Story of Love, Loss, and Survival for the silver screen. The real-life account of a young female Syrian refugee’s arduous journey in search of a better life was written by Melissa Fleming and published in 2017. It tells the true story of Doaa Al Zamel, a mother of two fleeing Egypt for Sweden by boat. After four days at sea, their boat is shipwrecked and Al Zamel survived for days in the open water holding two small children in each arm with only the support of an inflatable water ring. Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners and J.J. Abrams’s Bad Robot are co-producing the film, which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and Amblin. Sect members have been having on and off clashes with the Nigerian military and it all began on Saturday, October 27th. And on Monday October 29th it continued. The Sect members had started a protest that morning and tried to prevent a military vehicle carrying ammunition from gaining access on Nyanya road in Abuja . It was later alleged that the police were later forced to open fire on them to allow the military vehicle have it’s way.
