Aaron Sorkin’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7” Adds to Cast, Gets Release Date

Michael Keaton and William Hurt have officially joined The Trail of the Chicago 7. 

Aaron Sorkin’s sophomore directorial effort is set to hit theaters on September 25, 2020, before opening wide on October 2, 2020. 

The film, which is inspired by real-life events, tells the events of the 1969 trial of the 7 defendants charged with conspiracy following the 1968 Democratic National Convention. 

Keaton and Hunt join previously announced Frank Langella, Mark Rylance, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jeremy Strong, Alex Sharp, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Kelvin Harrison Jr.

Per Variety, Keaton is set to play Ramsey Clark, the judge that oversaw the trial, and Hurt will play John Mitchell, the attorney general at the time.

Sorkin will direct from his own script
