Production, however, will continue in order to finish out the season order. Roald Dahl’s children’s book is getting the big-screen treatment again! Matilda , the story of a child prodigy with magic powers is being adapted for the screen by Sony Pictures and Netflix.  The film adapted from Matilda the musical will be helmed by Matthew Warchus, with Dennis Kelly set to write the screenplay.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will get a full theatrical release before premiering on the steamer.  While representatives Netflix declined to comment, in 2018 the streamer announced that it would adapt Dahl’s catalog of children’s stories into a new slate of animated series, including Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG . Matilda was first adapted into a movie in 1996. It starred Mara Wilson as Matilda, as well as Danny DeVito, Pam Ferris, and Embeth Davidtz. My Chemical Romance announces that it will embark on a North American trek this fall.  The region tour planned for September and October follows what was supposed to be the band’s one-off event in December in Los Angeles. MCR announced the fall reunion tour this fall with a video directed by Kris Mercado and featuring music composed by guitarist Ray Toro and keyboardist Jamie Muhoberac. The clip which premiered Wednesday features a man playing with a ouija board. What he summons is a realm filled with allusions and imagery from My Chemical Romance’s history and discography. The eighteen date tour kicks off September 9 and closes October 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  This will be MCR’s first tour in nine years since they disbanded in 2013. One Day at a Time has lined up its first guest star.  Multiple outlets report that Ray Romano has been tapped to guest-star on the Season 4 premiere of the sitcom.  Romano is set to play Brian, “a 2020 US Census taker who comes to the Alvarez household to interview the family,” according to the official character description. Madonna cancels another concert.  The Material Girl says that she’s been “plagued” by injuries, which means she was forced to cancel yet another concert on her Madame X Tour.  The pop star shared the news via a statement released Saturday.  “I am deeply sorry that I have to cancel my concert scheduled for Monday, January 27th in London. Under doctors’ guidance I have been told to rest for a few days,” she shared.  She continued: “As you all know, I have injuries that have plagued me since the beginning of the tour but I must always listen to my body and put my health first. The last thing I want to do is disappoint my fans or compromise the integrity of my show.” Madonna added that despite the cancellation, she plans for the show scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, to go on as planned.
