A series based on the Hellraiser franchise is being developed at HBO.  Inspired by the classic horror franchise which was based on Clive Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart , the series will not be a reboot of Hellraiser , but rather “an elevated continuation and expansion” of its mythology, per Variety.  The new series will be written by Mark Verheiden and Michael Dougherty. David Gordon Green is attached to direct several episodes. Verheiden and Dougherty will also executive produce alongside Lawrence Kuppin and David Salzman, Dan Farah for Farah Films, Roy Lee for Vertigo Entertainment, and Eric Gardner for Panacea Entertainment. The BBC coming of age comedy is heading to Hulu.  The streamer has acquired In My Skin, created and written by Kayleigh Llewellyn.  The drama, based on Llewellyn’s own teenage experiences, stars Gabrielle Creevy and follows a Welsh teenager who lives a double life as she tries to keep her mother’s mental illness and her father’s alcoholism a secret. “We were blown away by the response to the pilot episode, which won two BAFTA Cymru Awards, and now to have such a brilliant reception for the series is just incredible,” Llewellyn said. “I’m eternally grateful to the people both on and off the camera who have poured so much love and care into this show. The comedy has jumped from Sony to HBO Max.  An American Pickle is officially heading to the forthcoming streaming service after it acquired the film’s worldwide rights. According to Variety , HBO Max bought the film from Sony Pictures so it wouldn’t be delayed in light of theater closures. The film, an adaptation of the 2013 New Yorker series Sell Out by Simon Rich, stars Seth Rogen in dual leading roles. An American Pickle is directed by Brandon Trost from a script by Rich. Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver are producing for Point Grey. Rich, Alex McAtee, and Ted Gidlow are exec producing.  “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with HBO Max to release this film,” Rogen said. “We worked very hard and put as much of ourselves in this story as possible. A year after Turn Up Charlie was released on Netflix, the platform has decided to cancel the series starring Idris Elba. Elba played Charlie, a struggling DJ and bachelor, who starts nannying for the daughter of his childhood best friend, Gabby (Frankie Hervey), who’s become much more successful than him. Also starring in the series were Piper Perabo and JJ Feild. Netflix said in a statement, “ Turn Up Charlie  will not return for a second season. Neil Young has another new album in the works.  The 74-year-old musician has announced that he’s working on a new archival LP titled Road of Plenty. The LP joins a busy album release schedule for Young with five new albums planned for 2020.  According to The Rolling Stone, Road of Plenty will feature material from the mid-to-late 1980s as well as live recordings from a 1986 Crazy Horse tour and unheard 1989 studio work with his Saturday Night Live band “Road of Plenty includes that magical night in Minneapolis where the Horse nailed the song,” Young said.  He continued: “During rehearsals for that show, we recorded some amazing music at the Hit Factory in NYC, all of which will appear on Road of Plenty,” Young writes. “Moving around a lot during that time, I was restless and it shows in the music. Disney has pushed back its Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, to March 25, 2022. The studio, which had recently moved the sequel to November 5, 2021, has decided to shift the release date once again. Starring as the titular character is Benedict Cumberbatch, who is expected to reprise his role. Also returning for the sequel are original pic stars Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Elizabeth Olsen.  Disney has had to do a complete reshuffle of its release calendar following theater closures and production shutdowns due to the Coronavirus. Ryan Reynold and director Shawn Levy have re-teamed on a new time travel drama set at Skydance. Ryan will star in the still-untitled movie, while Levy will direct and produce alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger of Skydance. According to Deadline , the film, written by Jonathan Topper based on a spec by T.S. The Spider-Man sequels are the latest films to get pushed back by Sony Pictures as Hollywood studios are adjusting their release schedule due to the coronavirus. Sony Pictures announced on Friday that Marvel-Sony’s Spider-Man Far From Home sequel would be moved from July 16, 2021, to November 5, 2021. Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel will also be delayed six months from April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022. Tom Holland starred in Spider-Man: Far From Home , which was one of the most successful films of 2019, grossing $1.3 billion in box offices worldwide. The franchise began with 2017’s Spider-Man Homecoming and the untitled film will be the third in the franchise. Chris Pine is in talks to star in Paramount’s reboot of The Saint.  Multiple outlets confirm that the Wonder Woman star is in negotiations to star in the remake of The Saint, directed by Rocketman helmer Dexter Fletcher. Fletcher will direct from a script penned by Seth Grahame-Smith.  The Saint is based on a 1920s book series of the same name by Leslie Charteris. Netflix has acquired world rights to The Starling.  The streamer won the bidding race for the Ted Melfi-directed drama starring Melissa McCarthy. In addition to McCarthy, the film also stars Chris O’Dowd and Kevin Kline, and a large ensemble cast. Saban Films has acquired the forthcoming crime thriller starring Nicolas Coster-Waldau.  The Silencing, an official selection of the SXSW Film Festival, was written by Micah Ranum. In addition to the Game of Thrones alum, it also stars Annabelle Wallis ( The Mummy, Peaky Blinders ) and Hero Fiennes Tiffin ( Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ).  The Silencing follows a reformed hunter (Coster-Waldau) living in isolation on a wildlife sanctuary who becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local sheriff set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago. USA will air two back-to-back episodes of the true-crime anthology series Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story . The series stars Pete who plays Betty Broderick, a Southern California wife and mother, married to Dan (Slater), her college boyfriend. Betty has supported her husband through medical and law school and now he’s finally made it big in the San Diego legal community. Nobody Will Tell You This But Me has found its director.  The film from Sight Unseen Pictures and Entertainment 360 has tapped Elizabeth Chomko to direct an adaptation of the memoir  Nobody Will Tell You This But Me. Chomko made her directorial debut with What They Had. The recently released book comes from the Emmy-nominated writer Bess Kalb, who will also pen the script. The story centers on Kalb’s relationship with her grandmother Bobby Bell. According to Deadline Kalb saved every voicemail her grandmother ever left her. Bobby doted on Bess; Bess adored Bobby. Then, at ninety, Bobby died. With humor and poignancy, Bess Kalb gives us proof of the special bond that can skip a generation and endure beyond death. Jerry Seinfeld’s second stand-up special for Netflix will hit the streamer May 5.  Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours To Kill will hit the streaming platform as soon as next month. Per Deadline , the special was filmed at the Beacon Theatre in New York and was part of his residency at the venue.  23 Hours To Kill is Seinfeld’s second stand-up special for Netflix under his production deal with the streamer. Another day, another remake.  Multiple outlets confirm that Disney is working on a remake of its 1973 animated film Robin Hood. The original was directed by Wolfgang Reitherman with Hood portrayed as a fox, leading the fight against Prince John’s excessive taxation. The new iteration of the classic story of Robin Hood hails from Blindspotting director Carlos Lopez Estrada. Netflix has released the first trailer for After Life season two.  The official teaser trailer features local reporter Tony, played by Ricky Gervais, exploring what comes next, that is what comes after his journey to find strength after dealing with his wife’s death in season one. As Tony continues to grieve for his late wife, he now faces a new problem: his local paper The Tambury Gazette is at risk of closure. Selena Gomez got her big break on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place , so she’s obviously no stranger to using a little bit of magic, but she took things to a whole new level in the twisty music video for her new single “Boyfriend”. The Matty Peacock-directed video is basically a reverse The Princess and the Frog and we get to watch Gomez going on a series of disastrous dates, and using a mysterious purple potion, which eventually turns all of her suitors into frogs. The singer described “Boyfriend” as “a lighthearted song about falling down and getting back up time and time again in love, but also knowing that you don’t need anyone other than yourself to be happy” on her Instagram. Gomez also made it clear that “a boyfriend is nowhere near the top of [her] list of priorities,” and that she wrote it long before the current health crises. She simply used this track to promote the release of the deluxe edition of her chart-topping album Rare , which became available on April 9th.

The animated series has been renewed by Fox.  The network has ordered a second season of its animated family comedy Duncanville.  The series hails from Amy Poehler, The Simpsons ’Mike and Julie Scully, 20th Century Fox TV, and Universal TV. “ Duncanville is another great addition to our Sunday Animation Domination block,” said Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox Entertainment. “Amy, Mike and Julie have been fantastic partners, as have the teams at 20th and Universal Television.
